THIS WEEK ON THE MORNING MARK:
Start Advertising Well Before Your First Launch
So you’re considering launching a new product, website or an event. You should start advertising well before your deadline. You may think advertising well before the launch is counterintuitive, but hear me out.
Successful advertising is like a sport. You don’t start playing it as an expert. Even if you are quite good at a similar sport, this one is still unique.
What can you do to counteract being a novice when there is a lot at stake?
STEP ONE
Begin early with boosting posts.
Start with the simplest type of ad to learn the basics: a boost. Here we are trying to better define our target audience and see what messages and imagery our audience responds to.
Put in a small amount of money into two or three posts and see what you can learn. Then ask yourself, how can you improve your boost?
STEP TWO
Move boost to Facebook Ads Manager.
Create account and Campaign and Ad Set for your launch.Create an ad. Take your improved post from social and insights from social and create your ad.
Again, can you improve it? Try two or three different versions.
STEP THREE
Start putting more funding into these ads.
Hopefully, step one and two have gone well, and now it’s time to launch. Since you have, over time, thought through all the parts of your campaign, you should be ready to jump in with both feet. You can put the desired amount of funding behind this ad without fear of waste or poor results.
Takeaway
When you can depend on your ad campaign, the future of your launch looks very bright. As we said, advertising can be like taking up a new sport. You will be rewarded for the time you spend warming up and practicing your “new sport” before trying to play at a high level when the game is on the line.
